Realm C15 Review: Cheap HP, Big Battery

Realme Indonesia has just announced the presence of a smartphone for their latest entry-level class which also complements their C series line, namely Realme C15. This device is the best choice for smartphones at the price of Rp. 2 million from realm, with a large battery and is the first to be marketed globally in Indonesia.

This Realme C15 is the first to be presented for the C series, where apart from having a large 6000mAh battery with a charging speed of 18W, it is also the first time to use a Quad Camera configuration and offers a large internal storage option at 128 GB for the C series which is the entry series- level from realme.

Design and Specifications

Realme C15 carries a Mini Drop Full Screen screen design with a rear body design called Geometric Gradient Design, with a textured printed plastic material that makes it more unique and comfortable to hold because it minimizes the presence of fingerprints. The frame is made of plastic as well, and has Marine Blue and Seagull Silver color options with the device dimensions of 164.4 x 75.9 x 9.8mm and a weight of 209gr.

On the right side of the smartphone, there is a Power button and a Volume button, with the left side a non-hybrid SIM card slot so that users can put 2 SIM cards and 1 microSD card at once. On the upper side, there are no buttons or ports whatsoever, and on the lower side is the position for the 3.5mm headphone jack, microphone, microUSB port, and main speaker.

The front side, of course, is a screen with a size of 6.5 ″ HD + resolution (720 x 1600 pixels), where there is a selfie camera and an earpiece on the side of the top bezel for receiving calls. And the rear body is where the Quad Camera, LED Flash, Fingerprint sensor and realme logo are located.

The kitchen runway of the C15 realm uses MediaTek Helio G35 with a 12nm fabrication, using 8 cores of Cortex A53 2.3 Ghz, with the Realme C15 device that we tested this time having 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Realme C15 has two other RAM / storage options consisting of 3 GB / 64 GB and 4 GB / 128 GB. The battery capacity is 6000mAh with a charging speed of up to 18W.

The main camera which consists of a Quad Camera has a sensor with a Wide 13 MP resolution, f / 2.2, PDAF + Ultra-wide Angle 8MP, f / 2.25, FOV 119 ° + Black & White 2 MP, f / 2.4 + Retro Lens 2MP, f /2.4 Aperture, while selfie camera has 8 MP resolution. The camera on the C15 realm can record up to 1080p quality at 30 FPS.

This device runs with realme UI based on Android 10, has sufficient sensors even though it doesn't have a hardware gyro but is software based, then supports 4G connectivity, 2.4 GHz WiFi, and Bluetooth 5.0. In addition to a security system in the form of a fingerprint sensor, Realme C15 also uses the Face Unlock feature as extra security.

The sales package itself is complete, consisting of:

  • Realme C15 unit
  • Screen Protector is installed
  • 18W charger (9V 2A)
  • Micro USB cable
  • Document
  • Sim Ejector
  • Soft case

Performance Test

To test the overall performance of the Realm C15, we used a benchmark set that we generally use when we want to see the performance of a smartphone device. Broadly speaking, the performance of the C15 realm is likely not much different from the C11 realm, due to the use of the same SoC.

Gaming Test

In general, an entry-level smartphone like the Realm C15 will not be as optimal as a mid-range or premium smartphone when playing games. But there is nothing wrong if we test playing games using Realme C15 for a number of popular game applications.

PUBGM on realme C15 by default only has an option up to Smooth - Medium, where it was found that Realme C15 could run at 24-26 FPS. Then when trying to unlock with Smooth - Extreme, where we get 30-48 FPS. Unfortunately, this configuration is indeed unstable so it would be better if playing PUBGM on Realme C15 only using the lower option, or Medium. The gyro on PUBGM can also run, but it makes the gaming experience not smooth so it's better to turn it off when you want to play.

For gaming tests with Free Fire, the configuration is right-aligned, you can get an average of 30 FPS, with an occasional drop to 24 FPS and the maximum that can be obtained is up to 38 FPS.

Camera Test

Carrying a Quad Camera with two sensors that are unique to the C15 realm, the device is still quite capable of capturing high-quality photos with “filters” that can be used directly through the B&W sensor and its Retro lens. For examples of photos from the main camera and selfies, you can see the following:

Battery Test

With a capacity of 6000mAh and a charging speed of up to 18W, we have high hopes for this smartphone in testing its battery life.

In the Video Playback test, we got a record to last up to 36 hours 25 minutes, the most durable that ever been tested by Jagat Gadget when it beat the record of the realm C11.

Meanwhile, for the charging speed test, the C15 realm is able to charge up to 50% in 1 hour 3 minutes. However, it still takes a long time to fully recharge, which is about 3 hours 11 minutes. This result is better than the Realm C11 which only has a charging speed of 10W, but in order not to waste a long time, it's a good idea to recharge the battery while left sleeping if it is not going to be used in the near future.

Conclusion and Price

Realme C15, it must be admitted, is still somewhat "behind" if you look at the basic specifications that still use the Helio G35 for a price range of Rp. 2 million. But with this very high battery life capability, Realme C15 is suitable for use by online motorcycle taxis or those who do not need a smartphone with high multi-tasking, but only need a very durable battery to use.

Realme C15 is officially sold in Indonesia at a price:

3GB / 64 GB USD 134
4 GB / 64 GB USD 147.41
4 GB / 128 GB USD 167.52
